I do not believe they are, no. NWN2 uses updated graphics and as such I do not believe the models are valid.
IIRC, scripting is similar, and it might be possible to import some scripts, but otherwise NWN1 things are not NWN2 compatible. I know that CEP recreated some NWN2 objects in NWN1, but I don't know how they did that (I'm not a modeler).
