There have been a number of players questioning the possibility or likelihood of playing drow followers of either Eilistraee or Vhaeraun. Initially, both of these will be restricted for two reasons.
First and foremost, there simply are not adequate areas and zones available to players to make either of these a viable player choice at this time and I cannot justify devoting the time nor resources to creating fully functioning starter cities and areas for what would undoubtedly be a niche playerbase. In time and as the server grows, this may change.
Secondly and most importantly, both of these groups demand difficult role-play which often leads to frustration on the part of either their players or those that are affected by them. Drow on the surface no matter which god they worship would be a kill-on-sight anomaly and since this is not a PVP server, we hope to avoid these types of situations. The sad truth is that most of these players would find themselves backed into a corner where PVP becomes the predominant form of interaction that they have with "outsiders."
Until otherwise posted, drow on the surface will remain off-limits to players and shall be one of the main antagonists on the surface.
